Testimonials

Paisley

Having grown up in Paisley and received my education there, this marvellous visual record was something special for me. It vividly recalls most of my old haunts – with their often poignant memories – and, also, clearly shows how, inevitably, the place has changed over the years. Disraeli once remarked: “ Keep your eye on Paisley!”: this wonderfully presented DVD ensures that those of us who know Paisley and those of us who are perhaps less familiar with the town will recognise its rich history and its present-day character.

 Dumfries

After leaving Dumfries over 50 years ago, I was entranced watching this delightful DVD of my hometown. It brought back so many happy memories, such as the Auld Brig across the Nith and Friars’ vennel  which I walked up, on my way past Burns’ statue and Greyfriars Church, to school at Dumfries Academy.

It not only brings to life the old market town of my birth, but it also illustrates the changes and developments over the years, making it the thriving, successful and vibrant County town that it is today. The beautifully produced DVD gave me great pleasure as it provides a nostalgic trip down memory lane. Indeed, it makes me want to return to my roots for even a short visit.

I would recommend it as an ideal gift for those “Doonhamers” from far and wide, who would like to renew their memories of their hometown in this beautiful corner of Scotland.

Ayr

“Whom ne’er a town surpasses” A DVD of the town and the poet with whose name it will forever be linked. The DVD shows Ayr as an attractive and historic market town. Its most famous son gives it an international dimension.
